FOKUS presents Soul Served: A Night of Dinner and Poetry
Saturday, February 23, 2013 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM (EST)
On Saturday, February 23rd, you are invited to join FOKUS for "SOUL SERVED," a unique event where we collaborate with The Five Spot Restaurant (459 Myrtle Ave, Brooklyn, NY) to present a night of dinner and poetry. We have curated a $25 three-course meal that is paired with three types of poetry - each centered on the themes of food and community. A regular menu will also be available for a la carte ordering. DJ Polarity will be spinning Soul Music throughout the night as well.
"SOUL SERVED" will highlight how food creates community through poetry readings by Briannah Hagger, Kearmonie, and Malcolm Wicks. Each poet has written new works for this event and for you. Also, we inviting you to be a poet for the night. The audience will write Haikus at the start of the event and we will read several of them while appetizers are served. RSVP today!
